Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all goods and services provided by Laura Pope Food (“we”, “us”, “our”), including cookery classes, private events, and vouchers, as well as your use of www.laurapope.co.uk (“our Website”). By booking a class, purchasing a voucher, or using our Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully before booking. By completing a booking or purchase, you confirm that you understand and accept them.

1. Bookings for Cookery Classes

1.1 General

When booking a cookery class, you agree that:

  • You have permission to provide personal information for anyone you book on behalf of.

  • You and anyone you book for have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

  • You will arrive on time. Classes begin promptly and we cannot delay the start for late arrivals. No refunds are given for late arrivals or no-shows.

  • You will not attend if you have been unwell within the previous 48 hours, to protect other guests and staff. Our standard cancellation terms still apply.

  • We may refuse admission or ask anyone to leave if we believe they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, are unwell, or behave inappropriately. No refund will be given in such cases.

  • You will follow all hygiene and safety instructions. We take care to create a safe environment, but you take part at your own risk.

  • You may be photographed or filmed during your class. We may use these images on our Website, in marketing materials, and on social media linked to Laura Pope Food or The Dorset Kitchen. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more details.

1.2 Children

Classes are for participants aged 16 and over unless otherwise specified.

1.3 Alcohol

Alcohol may only be served to guests aged 18 or over. We may ask for proof of age. Please drink responsibly, and ensure any under-18s attending with you do not consume alcohol.

1.4 Substitutions

If you cannot attend, you’re welcome to send someone in your place. Please let us know by email at least one working day before the class with their name, dietary needs and allergies. They must agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.


2. Cancellations and Rescheduling

2.1 Public Classes (Individual Bookings)

  • Cancel or reschedule at least 7 days before your class for a full refund or credit towards another date.

  • Cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • If you’re unwell, you can send someone in your place (see Section 1.4).

2.2 Private Group Bookings

If you cancel your private event:

  • 6 weeks or more notice: 100% refund

  • 4–6 weeks’ notice: 50% refund

  • Less than 4 weeks’ notice: no refund

To change the date of your private booking:

  • More than 21 days’ notice: no charge

  • 10–20 days’ notice: 25% of the full price

  • 4–9 days’ notice: 50% of the full price

  • 3 days or less: 100% of the full price

Changes to guest numbers or dietary requirements must be confirmed at least 2 weeks before the class. Increases in numbers are subject to availability and additional payment at the agreed rate.


3. Food Allergies and Dietary Requirements

Ingredients used in our classes may contain or come into contact with common allergens including wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, fish, shellfish, soya and others.

  • You must tell us about any allergies or dietary requirements when booking and again on arrival.

  • If someone attends in your place, you must inform us of their details in advance.

  • We will do our best to exclude allergens from your dishes, but you are responsible for managing your own or your guests’ allergies and dietary needs.

  • We cannot accept responsibility for any reaction or issue that occurs if food is consumed after leaving the class.


4. Gift Vouchers

  • Vouchers can be purchased via our Website or by emailing laura@laurapope.co.uk.

  • They are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and can only be used for The Dorset Kitchen cookery classes.

  • Vouchers are non-refundable after 14 days and cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • Lost or stolen vouchers cannot be replaced.

  • If a class costs less than the voucher value, the remaining balance stays on the voucher for future use.

  • To redeem, email laura@laurapope.co.uk with your voucher code.

  • You can cancel a voucher purchase within 14 days of buying it (if unused). Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 14 days of cancellation.


5. Health, Safety and Liability

  • Cooking involves some inherent risks. You agree to take reasonable care and follow all safety guidance.

  • You are responsible for the safe preparation, storage and consumption of any food taken home from your class.

  • We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings while on our premises.

  • You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claims, losses, or damages arising from:

    • Your handling or consumption of food after a class

    • Loss or theft of personal items

    • Any injury sustained during participation

5.1 Our Liability

Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your class or event.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded by law


6. Use of Our Website and Content

By using our Website or participating in our classes, you agree not to:

  • Copy, share, record or reproduce any of our recipes, course content or materials without permission

  • Use our content, trademarks, logos or photography for commercial purposes without written consent

  • Interfere with, damage or disrupt our Website or IT systems

  • Post or share any illegal, offensive or defamatory material through our platforms

  • Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with us

All intellectual property (including recipes, photos and written material) belongs to Laura Pope Food or our licensors. You may use it only for your personal, non-commercial use.


7. Website Accuracy and Availability

We aim to keep our Website accurate and up to date, but we can’t guarantee that it will always be error-free or continuously available. We may suspend or update it at any time.

Information on our Website and in our classes is provided for enjoyment and general interest. It is not intended as professional nutritional, medical or legal advice.

Our Website may include links to other websites. These are provided for convenience only – we do not control or endorse them and accept no responsibility for their content or use.


8. Offers and Promotions

Any promotional offers or discounts are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.
We reserve the right to cancel or amend promotions without notice.


9. Legal Rights

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Only you and Laura Pope Food have rights under this agreement – no third party may enforce these Terms.


10. Changes to These Terms

These Terms were last updated on 6 November 2025.

We may update them from time to time. The current version will always be available on our Website. Continued use of our Website or services means you accept the latest version.
